Pinecrest Lake Fishing

Remains a family-friendly vacation destination for over 100 years. This alpine lake is proof you don't have to be a big lake to make it one of California’s best. Pinecrest is famous for slow-speed boating. It is almost a requirement for first-timers to make the 4-mile trek around this lake. Boating

Pinecrest Lake draws a majority of anglers to its clear water. Pontoon boats, fishing boats, and floating tubes are all found in the lake. There are also pedal boats and canoes that can be launched into the lake, as well sailboats, kayaks and paddleboats.

Marinas

Pinecrest Lake boasts a single marina that has a lot of rental boats. The single launch pad can be busy on weekends during the summer.

Fishing

Pinecrest Lake has a lot of rainbow trout. Anglers are able to fish both from boats and shore. The beach has a fishing platform that children can use to cast their lines into waters.

Campgrounds

Pinecrest Campground, located at the western edge of the lake, has campsites within walking distance to the beach and marina. Other campgrounds can also be found near the lake, including a group campground located along Dodge Ridge Road.

Pinecrest Lake Resort serves as the main lodging option on the lake. You can also rent a few small cabins. You will find a few lodges in the vicinity that offer everything from cabins to lodge room options.

Scenery

Pinecrest Lake - Another mountain beauty is the backdrop of the Sierra peaks, which rise in the distance. There are thick pine and cedar trees along the shores. Near the dam, there is a rocky peak.

Nearby Community

The Pinecrest Lake community has a supermarket, sporting goods shop, and restaurant. Strawberry is just a short distance away from another restaurant and grocery store. Twain Harte in the small community of Sonora, and Sonora in the half hour are two other options.
